The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

My First attempt at any kind of map
Hello Cartographer's, this is my first attempt that has somewhat resembled any kind of map and while i know that this isn't very impressive, for someone like me who does not have an artistic mind even this was difficult, despite the fact that it was pretty much just moving a few randomly generated images around until i found something i liked. So i would like to share this all with you not only as a bit of a pat on the back for myself but also for feedback since i know i have a lot to learn. What can i do better? what did i fail miserably at? and what did i do good on? I think for now i will continue working on this map and adding to it as i learn more and more. Thanks in advance for any advice or just for stopping in to say hi!
Hi Pestilence - Looking good You could start a new thread with this one in the Regional/World Mapping subsection and get lots more comments (probably more useful than mine). I edited this comment because I was tired and it came out wrong the first time around. Sorry!
