Welcome!
The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Falaise de Musä by MistyBeee. Title : "Map of the Most Important Magic Pictograms on the Cliff of Medölinn"
This is great and I don't even understand what it is The conscript is awesome, by the way. What does it say? (if it doesn't take you too long to translate)
Thanks a lot Caenwyr ! I think you're not the only one to be lost with this map. I know it's a weird concept, but map makers of this world don't think like us ^^ The title, "Alacont-ma-len'Sorëln'daa'edere'enee-Sar'Medölin Ini Onisa'Thard i Mogenar'Musä - Beee Alacontèn" would be something like "Map of the Most Important Magic Pictograms on the Cliff of Medölinn between the Kingdom of Thard and the Principalty of Musä - Beee map maker.". So the map shows the big artificial cliff which was raised by magic 9000 years ago by Dar, kind of Thard, to protect Musä at the end of the War of the Keeper. You can find more details about the story on the WIP thread here if you're interested ! The tiny flags show the most important pictograms, and the labels in the map itself are just the names of the passages and rare stairs you can use to climb the cliff. The top banner is "Onisar’Thard’daa" : "The Big Kingdom of Thard", the bottom banner is "Mogenar'Musä" : "The Principalty of Musä". The small boxed map in the bottom right is labelled "En'Rian'pan-ma-en'Sar'Medölin" : "A complete view of the Cliff of Medölinn". The beetle is labelled "Sorëln'imme relae-ûr" : "Beetle with a pictogram 'door'". The boat is labelled "Tired-ma-Mulken" : "A barge of Mulken". There is a lot of mythology behind this map, and thousand of pages written on the past 18 years, so it's too long to explain in details, but you're welcome to ask any question you may have on the Finished thread of the map !
