The Cartographers’ Guild is a forum created by and for map makers and aficionados, a place where every aspect of cartography can be admired, examined, learned, and discussed. Our membership consists of professional designers and artists, hobbyists, and amateurs—all are welcome to join and participate in the quest for cartographic skill and knowledge.
Although we specialize in maps of fictional realms, as commonly used in both novels and games (both tabletop and role-playing), many Guild members are also proficient in historical and contemporary maps. Likewise, we specialize in computer-assisted cartography (such as with GIMP, Adobe apps, Campaign Cartographer, Dundjinni, etc.), although many members here also have interest in maps drafted by hand.

Very nice! Can you help me understand how best to use these in Photoshop? I understand how to use .ABR files as PS brushes, but since these are colored, I assume I can't use them in the same way. So if I wanted to put these into a Photoshop map, what's the most efficient way to utilize them?
Hmmm. Complicated. I didn't know photoshop doesn't do preset colour brushes... I work in GIMP I am not sure how to go about it, BUT you can try having this one open in a tab and copy and pasting it onto your image. (Though, this is a bit of a long winded roundabout way.) Or You can desaturate this image and try creating colourless brushes for them. Or You can download GIMP for free and use my GIMP brush set for placing the full coloured mountains. GIMP is a lot like photoshop, though with the option of using full coloured brush presets. (It is literally paste the .gbr files into the appropriate brushes folder) Sorry that I can't be of more help. Hope you succeed in your endeavour.
