Seriously, though, I've been thinking about this and I've come to the conclusion that I know very little about myself.

It's this darned movie, really. I was watching Runaway Bride (anything with Julia Roberts is amazing) for the 5 bagazillionth time (*see footnote) and eating an omelet. I've ALWAYS preferred omelets, even if I have no fillings for it. And then Julia's running around eating every imaginable type of egg, because she doesn't know what she likes. So here I sit, waiting on the sunrise to reveal the illumination of the morning Sun.

Wow. Been up for nearly 20 hours working on my novel and several other creative works of art just for the self preservation that this is my idea of fun.

Vaguely stated, I have been smitten with a common case of insomnia this week.

The best advice on writing I have ever given or received was simply to put pen to paper and write.

It's so natural to me. I've never been faced with a blank page I was not tempted to fill, and once begun, filled rapidly. I also have a talent for editing. To take a work written, by myself or anyone else, and improve upon it; to find a sketch and fix it, adding in details which make it whole, this is natural as well.

As a mapping-curious individual who is here to exploit cartography for the sole purpose of enriching my world, I'm finding these forums to be strangely addictive.

The fact that it is not as busy here as some of my other forums seems to aggravate the addiction.

And now, you give me, a person to whom the need to write is as natural as the need to breathe.. a place to write what I will.

I promise I shall try to keep it map-related. Or at least world-building ...

Sometimes when your digging around for inspiration on one project, something entirely different comes along and sparks your creative fire. This is not a map (which is why I am posting it here) but it was a fun little project. The base shape is one of my container shapes for my doomed Lite Challenge. I started out working to refine the base object a little and as usually happens, my mind went off on it's own and dragged me along. What mysteries lurk behind the door to Section 14-A?.....
