Conversation Between Wingshaw and Gamerprinter

  1. No, not at all. I was simply stating my point more clearly, and responding to why the map is designed the way it is. In commission work, the cartographer doesn't have full control on how a map might be designed. I actually had to prove with maps and images of actual Japanese feudal cities to Paizo, just to let me place a grid of canals in the first place. I got Paizo to agree to that much, but I had to concede on giving them a street plan that met their preferences.
  2. GamerPrinter, I sincerely hope you did not take offence at my comment about your map on Xalendi's map thread. Perhaps I phrased my critique too bluntly, and if so, I apologise. I have posted a reply in that thread, explaining my views in more detail. I am always happy to discuss aspects of urban form and history, and its role in fantasy city mapping, and am happy to debate you about this in a friendly manner. Cheers, THW (PS: hope you don't mind me posting this here; your PM inbox is full)
