You've got the general form down, but it's (as it almost always is) how the details are arranged. Looking at the example map, the initial thing that...
The most likely reason that the map seems sterile is that it seems to have no identifiable purpose. Is it for nagivation? Is it for illustration of a...
Oh, and, um, you don't need steel for gun barrels or lead for ammo. You'd be amazed what rope wrapped around hollowed-out logs pushing rocks out the...
Did you try contacting the author(s) of the papers? In my experience, most authors are happy to hear about uses of their work (even if they are in a...
Howdy folks! Typically on the weekends I try to work on fun/rpg related material... something leisurely at any rate. Friday night I decided to try to create a new map in the style of my World of Aerdlon map (found here).
The first part is fairly easy since I'm just doing the initial "shaping" in Fractal Terrains 3 and Wilbur. I actually spend more time waiting on the computer to render/process stuff at this stage more than anything else, but it is still a lengthy process,
I thought I should make at least some kind of progress post even though I haven't made it very far since my last post. This week has been extra busy and I haven't had much time to work on the fun stuff

Any input, especially about tje color, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I think I really like this one and that may be it, I may be done with the coloring. I can really feel the world coming to life now.
I felt like the colors were a little too washed out in the last version, so I took a break and brainstormed away from the computer and the map. Eventually an idea popped into my head, so I grabbed my phone to take a look at the map. For some reason I decided to toy with the simple editing tools and filters on my phone and some how found one that I thought
