    Map Monty Python’s Flying Atlas

This isn’t a terribly serious map and while it is technically finished in the sense that I’m not going to update it further, it doesn’t really deserve a post in the finished maps forum. It’s my first digital map (and my first map since I was a teenager). For those not familiar with Monty Python, it’s based on a scene in Life of Brian:

BRIAN: Are you the Judean People’s Front?
    REG: **** off!
    BRIAN: What?
REG: Judean People’s Front. We're the People’s Front of Judea! Judean People’s Front. Cawk.
    FRANCIS: Wankers.
The contour lines were simply traced from an existing map. For the colours I scanned a page from a 1930s atlas I have; after some slight tweaks this resulted in a fairly nice palette. (The sea looks disconcertingly green next to the yellow shoreline though.) The placenames come from Wikipedia. They might be somewhat inconsistent but becoming an expert in Middle Eastern history was a bit beyond my scope here :-P

The lines and colours were done in Krita, labels in Gimp.
