    Default Esoteric and Nyverden (Commission)

Here are two maps I have made for a friend, which will be just in time for her birthday.
I have been meaning to make them for a long time, but have been forgetting (tsk tsk) but now I've finally got around to it.
One is a remake, because I already made a version of it for her, but it really wasn't any good.

So let me know what you think of these, and feedback or comments are very appreciated!

And if anyone is interested, here is the map that I made a few years ago which I remade:

Both are very cool. Especially the first one is very simple and efficient. My only comment is that you could move 'Frozen Peak' label slightly down and to the right so it doesn't overlap the coastline and perhaps adding a small white stroke or outer glow to the 'Black Woods' label.
Other than that these are great. Really a nice gift.

Nice set I'd second Daniel and a little thingy is bothering me. On the second map, the northern island filling looks too much like the coastal waves giving somewhat the impression of a lagoon rather than a wasteland. Besides that, the VE touch is there

As has been said, nice little set of clean maps, Josiah!

I hope your friend is happy with them, as she's very lucky to have such a talented cartographer at her disposal!

Oh they're lovely, Josiah, and a huge improvement on the original - even though that in itself was pretty good

    Thanks Dan!
I agree with you about the labels. I was going to add the white stroke, but forgot. It was already pretty late and I didn't feel like re-exporting it.

Hmm. I was wondering about that too. Maybe I'll have to change it.
Thanks for the feedback Thomrey, whoops. I mean ThomasR.

Nice work on these, Josiah. I like 'Nyverden' best, but both have a clear, simple style that'd look great in a book or even just printed out on a humble laser printer. I like the sea lines particularly. And kudos to you for posting the original too. It's not terrible, but even with a quick glance, you can see how far you've come since you made it.
