Link de Fer Battlefield: A Free 17th Century Brush Set for Fantasy Maps

Hi ya! I’m still around! Just been busy with a hundred other things.
But! I made a new free brush set and I wanted to share it with everyone.

Today I am excited to release the second in my series of brush sets coming from the work of French cartographer Nicolas de Fer who eventually became the official geographer to the Spanish and the French court in the 18th century. de Fer Battlefield is a battlefield-focused brush set taken from Le Combat de Leuze ou de la Catoire, a late 17th-century map depicting the fortification of the Belgium city of Leuze-en-Hainaut, and the Battle of Leuze, a French calvary victory from the Nine Years’ War. It’s full of the sort of stuff that makes these maps fascinating, charging calvary units, stalwart pike men, soldiers, explosions, battles, villages, and more. Perfect to add a bit of narrative drama to your fantasy maps.

As with all my other sets, these are distributed under a CC0 license, which means they’re free to use for personal or commercial work, no attribution required! Let me know what you think!

You can read more about de Fer Battlefield and download the set over on my blog.

Amazing as always! I love your brushes and use them fairly often.
