Hi Dan,

Some comments. Assuming that your planet is rotating in the same direction as the Earth, then you should have polar easterly winds coming from the polar regions. North of the equator (northern hemisphere or NH) you should have north easterly winds (blowing from the NE to SW) and in the SH you should have the winds blowing from SE to NW. In both cases the winds will converge with the mid-latitude westerly winds. This is where atmospheric conditions like the jet stream often set up, which will direct storm tracks across your world.

Second point, your low pressure areas will always have winds converging (coming together) in them. So, the winds will blow in towards your low pressure zones. If you reverse the arrows on the winds you have blowing out from the lows you would be correct.

Where wind systems converge (between low and high pressure zones, and iabove low pressure zones) you will have rising air, clouds and rainfall. In high pressure areas, sinking air, clear skies and very gentle or erratic winds at the surface.

More suggestions to follow later.
