    I definitely want in
Like a thief in the night
    she comes with no form
    yet tranquility proceeds
    the accursed storm...

I love city maps. I saw this thread and, before commenting, went off to do a little drawing to make sure I'm in. I'm definitely in!
    Uhm. Please?

This district is called Inkwell, where the fountain provides whatever ink a cartographer should desire!

I just realised that there needs to be a lot more mess around the fountain if mapmakers are dipping ink out of it all day... Maybe the cobbles are meticulously maintained.

    Cheers,
    Meshon

I think this is similar to my question or at least related:

When we are given a plot of land I am assuming we will get a scale or something to get an idea for how big a house should be relative to our plot of land. I wouldn't want to put 10 houses in the same space that someone else put 50... well unless I'm working on Silicon Valley or something...

And please remember I am fairly new to this, so I may have to wait until (or adjust after) someone starts posting some works in progress to make sure I get the relative sizes, perspective, light source, etc. correct.

Asking questions is perfectly fine That's how we learn about stuff.

John said earlier that he was thinking of preparing a 5' grid for the city. This should serve as a scale, as I imagine the grid will be visible on the parcels of city space we are given.

Its also perfectly fine to tell the old Mouse if she's got the wrong end of the stick and hasn't answered your question properly

He did say that didn't he... I had forgotten already...

Houses nowadays are what 20' x 50' ish, so if we are talking medieval-ish fantasy I assume smaller than that so 15' x 20'? so maybe 3 x 4 squares roughly? (I imagine we could make some rounded some squared off)

(Sorry if I'm asking dumb questions.)
