Very nice! Both are excellent but I think I prefer the first one.

Oh, and thanks for the tip about the outline brush with fill 0% - hadn't thought of that and have painted my own greenery on both sides
    Thanks Tilt!

I believe this is the final linework, I'll know once the client responds.

A lot of woefully detailed cliffs, but with some persistent work I got it done quickly.

Other than that I made some snazzy livestock and item brushes (it was super fun placing them) and added trees, finished the fields, and in general cleaned everything up. Now it's onto the shading! *epic music*

Looks awesome, like the feel of your lifework, look forward to the color version and how you handle those fields.

Really like the look. Only thing that stood out a little was your lifestock, they looked good, but a bit large in regards to the buildings?

Thank you Snodsy! It's the first time I've done fields up close so I hope I handle them well

Hmm.. you think so? The client said the buildings are supposed to be very small, just simple farmer houses, and that the livestock were good sizes, but I think I might agree with you. It's so hard to get the scale right (or just make opinions in general) when you're the one doing it and you've been staring at it for hours as you make it, if you get my meaning. It would be very easy to scale them down a bit, perhaps I'll try that and I'll upload the new version to see what you think. Thanks!

you're most welcome, and of course the buildings in the olden days were pretty small. But they still had to fit a family of 4-10 people typically Room for a heart a table, and perhaps a curtain or two to make a bedroom. And 4-10 beds, cots etc. although the kids could sleep together in one bed or with the adults depending on how poor they were.

Excellent point. I'll try scaling them down then.

Most of the shading is done, so I'll post an update. Still need to do work on on the cliff shading, and need to figure out what to do with the crops... other than that colouring is next!
