Very nice choice of colors. I like it a lot. =)
The only thing that bothers me a tiny bit is that little island that is clipped by the top border. I can't really explain why... maybe because I perceive it to be part of that island group around the main island and so it feels a little weird that it would clip there.

My god that's beautiful! Please do more like this!
Also, I'm totally going to try and copy this style.
Also, I want you to have my map babies.
Thanks Thomrey
Thanks John. There will be three kind of map in this thread if I manage to complete them all. One of them will be without color to show the political border of the different kingdom. For the shading, It doesn't work with this coloration. I'll try it for the third map.
Thanks ChickPea, i enjoy doing this caterpillar mountain at last, and I think I can improve them with some training .
He he Mat, right in the middle : this tiny island sqeezed by the border is part of the island group. I try to modify the border to let it breathe. Hope it works now.
Thanks Snodsy to be so hard with me, i'm a little lazy some times .
Thanks Ilanthar. No shading finaly, but a new elevation layer.
Wait Diamond, we have to know each other better, i'm not ready for that. Lets try to live together before talking about babies...
Thanks for the kind words. And if you want to try this style, it's at your own risk...
Well here is a little update.
I have some trouble choosing what to do next and need your advices. For this map I think about three options for the white part of the Morocco coast :
* a little inset of the Atlantis surroundings with some closer caterpillars relief,
* a title and an explanatory legend of the natural resources of the region,
* A combination of the two previous possibilities.
Any other ideas or option you think of ?
Thanks all and cheers !
I vote for a combination of the ideas if possible; both have their merits. Space might be tight though.
Excellent work, Warlin!
The caterpillar technique you used yields a very appealing result!
It reminds me an old map of Tuscany (the "Austrian Map", 19th century) that I saw many years ago at the IGMI (Italian Military Geographic Institute).
And I must really congratulate you, for your patience in drawing all those tiny lines!
P.S.
I beg your pardon, I called you with another name...

Thanks Diamond and Ilanthar. I'll go for a city map then.
Don't worry AzurePlanet. And thanks for your kind words. Austrian map... good choice, it's one of my inspiration. I don't have the precision of this map though.
Thanks AslanC.
I begin a new thread for the city map here.
