In some places, the darker parts of the text still stand out too much. I think you should lower the opacity some more in the darkest places by partially erasing the text (eraser with low opacity).

Thanks for the advice Chashio, and thomrey, I'll definitely do that. I ended up removing the mask I was working on because I've had to move some text after putting the rivers in, and I think I'll do everything in one pass once all my line work is done, I hope to get started on the smaller hills tonight.

Mouse - I forgot to address you're question about the trees earlier, sorry about that, I'm trying to quit smoking, and today is my first day without a cigarette so I'm pretty foggy. I meant to tell you earlier that I'm going to try, and add some small tree like shrub things with my foothills, still staying with the style of my reference image, I hope I can work it out.

That's ok, Kacey. Just because I ask a question, doesn't mean you are obliged to answer it. I've only got the expert label by passing the 1000 comment mark. In reality I know next to nothing about anything

Good luck with the smoking. If it doesn't work just keep trying. Eventually you will find something that does. My ex boss swears by hypnotherapy, my friend went cold turkey, and I did it with patches. There are many more who swear by vaping, although I've yet to hear of anyone who has subsequently managed to give up the vaping. Still, its reckoned by NICE (the UK National Institute of Clinical Excellence) to be only about 5% as dangerous as smoking cigarettes.

This is just awesome. So simple and so effective. Love the mountains. As always, could still use more blood. ;D

She's a beauty. I really like the way you shaded the mountains. Really coming along nicely.

Thanks guy's! I'm so glad you like the mountains they took such a long time to do. I wish I had time to add more blood, but I've got surprise visitors from out of town for the weekend, so I don't see myself getting any extra time on top of finishing the absolute must haves.

I got the rivers in, and started adding some hilly areas, still trying to stay with the style of my reference. I removed the mask I was using to scuff up the lines, I’ll do that again once all the lines are in at the very end, it will be the last thing I do.

I’m not done the hilly areas yet, but I thought I’d check in here first to see what you guys think before I move forward, they are suppose to look kind of sketchy, and sloppy, I’m trying to match them as best I can to my reference.

    This is looking great, Kacey

I know everyone has been going on about having to have more and more blood (me included), but for my part in the whole thing, I was only getting into the spirit of things, and not really thinking about the consequences. Too much blood, after all, might harm the very authentic feel of this beautiful map by making it faintly ridiculous. Maybe a few bloody fingerprints, or even just one - or maybe there is even already enough blood on the map? It all really depends how slovenly your vampires are, and how many battle scenes this map has had the misfortune to present at
