Wip 27 - The Cayadian Enclave [Abu]

    Welcome travellers!
My district will be an enclave of the Cayadian Empire far in the west. The many tributary human people of the realm are ruled by the Ktlaq, a race of giant humanoid ants and ultimately by their ephemeral god-empress Yshtar. In the district you can find people from all over Cayad.
    - The south western gate of Guild City is fortified by a strong fortress manned by fear- (and mind-)less Ktlaq and Xruk warriors, in their duty to secure this part of the citywall.
    - Following the main street heading towards the inner city, the big Caravanserai is awaiting the huge caravans and exhausted travellers. Here already, merchants from all over Guildworld are haggling about tradegoods in the shadow of its high walls. It also has a quite luxurious hotel inside.
    - Following the road further into the Main Souq, the traveller is soaked into the mesmerizing melange of scents, sounds and tastes of all the exotic places around Guildworld. From time to time there even is a strong smell of cheese in the air...
    - Along (and in) the hillside are towering the enormous mounds of the (exiled) Ktlaq nobility with the palace of the embassador amidst them.
    - Afoot the hill are a number of administrative buildings and the great Hall of Higher Learning, where a range of (sometimes dubious) arts are taught and learned not only by cayadians. Around the Hall(s) a whole infrastructure of merchants and craftspeople settled down to fullfill the esoteric needs of the scholars.
    - At the lakeside a branch of a wealthy merchant family from the Satrapy of Zarg has established (heavily guarded!) silk spinneries to produce the rare material - "authentic zargan silk" - directly in Guild City.

These are my initial thoughts about the district. Comments, suggestions, critique is always welcome.

    Cheers,
    AL

Nice Glad to see you are extending the influence of Cayad.
One must be wary of overly strong casein smells
They tend to lead to very strange happenings and long winded tales of the ridiculous

If the prevailing wind is in my direction I might have to put in a complaint to the city council. Can't have drinkers at the Compass Rose being put off their brew!

Yeah the carnelian god-empress has a very fine nose and one could say she is a bit of a connaisseur

Just make sure your spiky wall-thingies don't encroach on other folks!

This looks great so far, it's amazing how even you're rough sketches look good.

More than an excellent start and ideas... Actually, I shamelessly borrowed the fact to use some Guildword's background .
