Thread: July/Aug '20 Lite Challenge: Ginger Isle

  1. #1

Default July/Aug '20 Lite Challenge: Ginger Isle

As much as I love being unable to stick to one style, I'm quite insecure with this one. :T I've been trying to make my first raster piece for some time now and this could be it. Bless the lite challenge for the motivation surge. Please spam me with critiques and good advice!

P.S.: the desert totally won't stay that way.

P.S.2: I'm really sorry about that title pun.

Welcome to the Challenge Eowyn, glad I can supply some motivation!
    Very nice mountains.

I'm in agreement with Mr. B, those mountains are looking good. As for finishing, I'll let you in on a little secret... I've failed to finish way more of these challenge maps than I've completed. I know, shocking, right?

Seriously, though, just do the best and as much as you can. Complete or not, it's still some practice/skill development time.

Thank you so much. <3 It's really comforting to read this because I'm coming here to say I really am dropping out from this project. Maybe I'll take it up again some time, but the fantasy style is not my cup of tea and this won't be the piece that will unlock it for me. At least not yet. Thanks for the feedback and good luck to the contestants!

Oh, you guys deserve the latest WIP though. What made me drop out is that my style has clearly changed from the first forest to the second one, and my dunes are too big and not really pretty… Oh well!

PS: just noticed the background moved too, so that the river ends in a weird way now. This would be a quick fix though.

I'm sad to hear that, because I think you made a good start. But maybe you give it another shot some day and we'll see how your style developed. But of course I like your vector graphics very much, so I'm also excited to see more of these

I can't open your image, it is telling me "Invalid Attachment specified". Maybe there went something wrong with your upload?
