Link Widman: A Free 17th Century Cartography Brush Set (PS) for Fantasy Maps

    Hey, folks!

Today I'm releasing another massive set of free brushes named and based on the 17th-century engravings of Georgio Widman from 1680. It's a big set (over 500 brushes) which should allow for a ton of variance and nuance—something I find essential when making my own maps. The brushes are designed for Photoshop, but I include a transparent PNG as well, so you can use it with other programs. (Note: the brushes are black, and when viewed in Chrome it'll look broken, it's not.)

You can read more about the set and download it over on my blog.

I've attached a sample map below showing the brushes in use. Widman is free to use for personal or commercial work. Hopefully, you find them inspiring. Have fun with 'em!

And, as always, here's a sample of some of the elements from the full set.

    You're very welcome!

I'm already elbow deep in a few more sets.
