cool find - thanks rdanhenry, did try the same search terms but didn't manage to find anything really usefull. And jtougas, sounds like you have a point
Anyone knows of the top of their mind if all the bridges and tunnels were there in the 50s ?

Here is a map from 1948. It is for the subway but you can probably make out which bridges are there.

So, deadline almost upon us so I've pressed in a little time - hope to get a little time tomorrow too to finish it
anyone got any good ideas of stuff from the 50s that might lie on the table - please buzz me... also, what gun would people have used then? and if you can, feel free to link to an appropriate picture of what you're talking about

Added a gun and an item to the list of things that might kill aliens - it turned out however, they only got mad

I'd think "Fire" would be on that list. I guess "Bullets" wouldn't be, because that would have been the first thing to fail before falling back on trying things from a list. I suppose fire might have been tested right away if there was a flamethrower handy. If it were me I'd probably go ahead and have bullets on the list (crossed out), but as I wrote, that's not actually realistic. I just think it'd be amusing.
Added a border and a plaque and fire and bullets

Nice map and nice use of humour.
BTW is that the gun that you used to keep in your garter belt when you were the international spy known only as "Tiltella"?
