Feel free to create any illustrations as you please. I haven't really thought about the people's appearance down to much detail, but I would say that they might look similar to Portuguese people in terms of physical appearance. Dress would favour loose, airy garments for the island's warm climate. Men's clothing would be relatively plain, of flat colors or possibly some simple geometric patterns, whereas women's clothing might be cut from vividly dyed cloth patterned with ornate motifs such as flowers, stars, stripes, or animal silhouettes. Sailors would of course wear outfits practical for getting around in a ship. Men of any social class other than slaves should carry knives on their person, but only those of the warrior-aristocracy would openly carry swords in public. They would favour swords with falcata-like blades and handles. Holy men would have large manes of hair and great beards, for they refrain from cutting their hair due to religious reasons.
