The long wait paid off! If having to wait that long for something this beautiful is the only thing I have to do, it's well worth it! Sadly I am unable to give you any Rep

Lovely map THW! I love the almost painting like quality of the map... like some expert watercolourist had decided to do an impression of his home city

Beautiful map THW!! Thank you very much for you hard work on this project! I must say it did feel like much less than 87 days. Good luck with your future commissions!

An absolutely fantastic map! And as I usually say, there are never any short cuts if you want to make a good looking map.
When you say you spent 55 days drawing this, is that full time days or more like a couple of hours a day days, if you get what I mean.

Great job THW ! I'll probably be the only one who has a few neatpicks but well I already mentioned the perspective issues in the WIP thread so no doubt you will improve it on your next works, and I also think that the linework quality could be improved. Tjis will turn a good map into an even better one

    Oh, come on Max
Great map THW, I've followed the WIP from the beginning and it turned out very well.

Stunning THW, just stunning! It turned out even better than I expected, and I already had high hopes! It's evident that you not only put a lot of time and effort into drawing this, but also put a lot of thought into the general layout to really illustrate the versatility of a city. Except nit-picking, I really don't have anything to criticize here.

Your WIP was highly inspiring to follow, with a equally inspiring final result. Can't wait to see what your next undertaking will be!

Ps/ I actually don't agree with Max on his comment above. I really don't see the issue in the perspective. Sure, there are a few wrong lines, but other than that it's consistent through and through. The only thing I see that might be wrong with it is that it's different from the perspectives usually seen for these kind of maps around the guild – but personally, I think that's a good thing. Long as you are consistent with it, it works, and I for one wouldn't want it to change

    Cheers,

    Thanks everyone!

@Clercon: that 55 days was mainly just a couple of hours a day. I don't think I have the patience to sit at a drawing non-stop for a whole day.

@Max: I've already started work on another city map commission in the same style, so hopefully I'll be able to make the perspective more consistent. That said, I think it is always going to be the case when hand-drawing a map with this much detail that there are slips and mistakes; and once the ink is down, there's no Ctrl+Z option.

@Katto: thanks (off-topic, but I keep hoping to find time to work on Birdseye again; sorry that project has become rather inactive lately).

@tainotim: thanks tainotim. As you and I stubbornly stick to traditional media, I think that you more than anyone can understand the difficulties of hand-drawing a city like this with pen and paper.

    THW
