so here is a WIP.
I chose a small restaurant located in the city wall.
This is the lair of the guards who live in the fortified gate.
The drawing is made on cintiq 12X with photoshop

1 sketch

2 inking

3 setting up the colors. At this stage they are only plain colors

4 I work atmospheres. On different layers I make lights or shadows. I switch the shadows layers into "product" mode and layers lights "overlay"
I also add color degraded to "break" a little smoother side of photoshop

5 I flattened all my layers colors.
at this time I add all the details. I painted. This is the less technical phase

6 Finally, on my color layer, I added "noise" filter. It gives a grain pattern that gives one side "handmade"



the drawing is not completely finished.
I will continue to work a little atmospheres with layers of ambainces

I'm glad that you posted this - it is nice to see your process and I am tempted to try something similar.
