    Cool, that's what I thought!

I'm pleased with the piece I got and look forwards to starting it, hopefully sometime tomorrow!

EDIT: Also, I'll make sure that however I do the map, the water can easily be removed for either scenario!

Okay. World is 18900 miles circ - so 10 degrees is 525 miles.
Someone else can make a kilometer scale if they would like - we're out of date here in the US
Here's a png scale you can drag into any of your maps. I made it to be accurate to all of them.

I thought I'd add - the language and naming you use is entirely up to you.
It can be cool and mean something or it can just be fun and mean nothing particular.
It can be Guild related names or your own thing.
That was part of Robbie's intent with the countries.
If you want any continuity with your neighbors, then you must have diplomatic talks with them.

EDIT - OH, post wips and such here in the Annual challenge area, just like a normal challenge.
I'm eager to see who gets going first.

And one last thing - the coast lines can be edited. Try to keep them and the country edges close, but if you want to make your coastline a bit more interesting or detailed you can.
I just need to be able to fit it back into the BIG map when were done.

Where do you suggest we have these diplomatic talks?

You can PM or use the visitor message area.
You can email if they are down with that.

Or, once people start getting their own threads started, you can go back and forth between each others threads too I guess.
Some countries[guilders] may be unfriendly... so approach these diplomatic talks carefully

    .
As I have been busy with the lite challenge I discovered this thread only now.

So first in civilized units this makes a world with slightly above 30 000 km circ what makes a radius of almost exactly 5 000 km. So it is slightly smaller than our Earth.
10° along the equator and on any longitude circle are then approximately 850 km.

And second, sign me up for a piece as there seems still to be place.

Excellent. Give me a few minutes to post your country Deadshade.
Yours will be #28 on the numbered map

Edit - your country is posted Deadshade. #28, just after Steffen

I had a couple of thoughts about when people start their threads.

It would be good if everyone could include their map no. in the thread title (like how Ravells did) so that we can easily see where your particular map is located in the 'Big Picture'.

We also have the thumbnail scraper set up in this folder and I'm hoping it should work without any problems. Therefore if you put ### LATEST WIP ### just above your images as you post them, they should show in the thumbnails gallery and let everyone see at a glance where we're all at. Maybe someone could test this with a sample image just to make sure it's all working? You don't have to do this, as we aren't going to be voting or anything, but it'd be nice to be able to see all the images in the one place.

I started my thread and posted a pic with ### LATEST WIP ###.
Seems to be working. I'll add that bit onto the front as well.
Thanks for adding that. I totally forgot about saying that
