Default Map 52 - The Sinister Coast

    | Map 52 - Corilliant's Land |

Bring forth your diplomats, o neighbourly ones. I look forward to forming cheese alliances with you. To my future neighbour in Map 55, we have a long border to sort out. I'd love to work with you on the history of our two nations. I'm also interesting in developing some naval war history with the nations across the sea to the south and east.

Well, I'm nowhere near you, and my country doesn't have a navy so I expect we won't have any international relations, but looking forward to seeing the map and history!

There is a certain style of mapping that I want to use, but for now, here are some coastlines. Woo.

I heard a rumor that a merchant ship had set sail from Nanabe, after taking on trade goods from up in Aghana.
It's a dangerous voyage through the straits of Gorgomotha and beyond the nefarious pirate havens rumored to haunt the legendary shores of far Wuqiong.
One wonders what trade opportunities would drive such merchants to voyage so far into the unknown west...

Do we have names set for the straits between 52 and Wu Qiong (42), or the ones between 52 and Echisia (46)?
Also, who named the ocean to the north 海洋?Well played...

For the sake of pirates and trade, I've included the coast of the continent to the east. With some careful scaling and layering, I think it's worked. I'll remove a good chunk off the east later, after I've sorted out where everything will go.

I've also made the precaution of dividing the map into three parts so that Redrobes can get the bits he needs, rather than a whole map.

It's going to be a black and white map, I think. If there is to be any colour, it'll only be used for icons and banners. I want to make this map look rough.
Here's a little screenshot of a river test I made:

No, there's no name for a number of waterways, so go forth and chart some waters.
Most have talked with their neighbors about water names, but we have a thread for discussing and suggesting names if you have some ideas.

Another (better quality) screenshot of what I'm aiming for:
I just have to find a way to make the mountains I want...

Good start neighbor - l like the style of your coasts
Concerning naming just remember that different countries have different names for the same body of water.

yep, good start Corilliant. I have to add that your new avatar is somehow... mesmerizing. Hum, anyway, I like the two names you put, Port Iben is familiar somehow.
