    Wip July 2016 Challenge: Harlasea

Ok, so I guess I'm doing this. Wasn't sure, though I LOVE this idea.
I generated a list and it had some nice stuff. One caught me more than the others.
    Here's the list...

    Obviously I went with no.10 - Harlasea.
I did some sketch and concept stuff to work it up.
I wasn't sure what area to map, but since Diamond said about doing a region rather than a whole plane or world, I went with a region in Harlasea.
I liked the idea of Grymnar and created a story behind that. Most of that info is on the sketch page.

I'll update as I have more.
Diamond - I love this challenge
This should be a recurring one.

I know I'm gonna sound like a fanboy but, heck, no need to hide. I'm so glad you're doing another one in this style !

Oh, somehow your post didn't show up in the forum for me... I love the Grimnor Region sketch, really promising! As always i'm stunned by the well thought out worldbuilding behind your awesome art And thanks for sharing some of those weapon sketches, like them a lot and hope to see a bit of them in the final work

    Here's an update for today.
Not sure what the colors will be. But... sapphire seas and golden sun... sort of tells you something.
There are still some sketch lines showing in this version.

Thanks Abu Not sure if weapons will make it to final version or not, but hey - not entirely sure what the final version will be, so who knows.

That's looking fantastic so far! I love those pointy rock formations sticking up out of the ocean.

EDIT: I also love how the mountains break the boundaries of the border.

Thanks Neyjour The rocks or shards coming up in the water are the remains of the broken white star that had once been in the air above the sea and Grymnar, protecting it form the Qyr.
Now, destroyed, the Qyr have returned to the region and are causing havoc.

Thanks Ilanthar Yes, I already see some really good entries.
This is definitely a fun challenge to be part of.

Okay... little more done on this. So much forest to be done.
And much more with coloring and such.
The colors right now are just flats that I use later for selections.
So the colors will be more vibrant when I really get into that.
    Anyways, here's the update

Another awesome piece John! The forests look great and fit very well into the landscape. Speaking of it, i just imagined a titanic warmachine making a fancy u-turn at the beach Really looking forward to see it coming together.
