    Wip Addha World Map

EDIT: Thanks to ChickPea for moving this thread to the correct place!

    Hello!

This is a project that I'm tinkering with a little bit now and then, and I felt like showing it to you all.
I've posted an earlier version of this over on reddit and got a positive feedback, so I felt I could show it off here

The thing bugging me the most is how to make mountains look good (I would like a more realistic mountain style, featuring different heights, such as I've done with the different depts in the ocean).
I am also not sure if the layout of the different depts in the oceans make any sense, I have not decided on any tectonic plates.

    Edit:
I am also in search of a good tutorial concerning deserts, and how to show the land going from green to desert in a simple enough manner.

I hope you like what you see thus far!

Those are some really awesome continents! I love the layout of it. Cool names, borders, land bridge, it's all very believable. I think you need to work on the mountains, although they might look good in a different map in my opinion they don't fit with this style, as you say.. The map is 'top down' but those mountains are from an angled view. Check out Vorropohaiah's Atlas Elyden, I think that's what the style of mountains/elevation you're looking for is, right?:

Thank you! I'm glad you like it Thanks for the link, I have seen his stuff on Deviantart, it's very awesome. Those mountains you see on the current map are a remnant from when I tried to make it look more like a proper fantasy map.

Are the borders clear enough, good color? I was also thinking of adding roads, with dashed lines.

Aenigma, I've moved your thread to the Regional Mapping WIP folder. Hope that's OK with you.

Cool stuff! I like the layout, we draw continents similarly, I see many structures that I like to use in my work as well. I think this is a great map!
