So I'm trying to make a small region map for a DnD campaign set in a valley in a fictional crossover between Ural Russia and New Zealand's Fjordlands... it's a pretty open-plan campaign in that I'll add locations as it goes. The dotted regions are townships, that I'll be drawing their own separate maps of. I don't really know how to approach drawing a village? Also I'm not sure the mountains make 100% sense.

If anyone has any comments or advice, I'd be very grateful

My first critique would be that it needs a light drection and corresponding shadows, the basic black and white sketch would go before even thinking of colours.
