I like that new version on the paper background. Looks great.
"We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams"
I like them both. I do find the new colouring more appealing (it isn't so harsh to look at as the saturated blue contrasted with the bright white), although I also find the cloud/wavy texture to be a bit too strong for my tastes.
Yeah, I like the new background too. A bit softer on the eyes than good ol' blue.
I agree with Falconius the wavy lines in the background might be a tad strong, but I think overall I prefer the new look. The bordering criss cross lines around the rooms is also appealing.
you do know that that is a 6 pointed Jewish star of David and NOT a 5 pointed pentagram

They use both, you see it all the time in Asian fantasy magic stuff.
The required form of a "circle of power" depends on the summoner, the summoned, and the purpose of the summoning. Crossed triangles, crossed squares, a pentagram, and so on are all appropriate in context. The amount of language scribed as part of the circle also varies widely. The classic use of such circles is to contain a summoned entity until such time as a bargain can be struck for services.
However, be careful not to fall into this trap...
I'm going now.
"We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams"
So you should after posting that Possibly the worst joke ever, but funny and appropriate.
Anyhow, here's an update with a 'new pattern' I created for the wall edges (flipped vertically and horizontally and then painted on with inverted, pattern fill layers and a large, round, soft edge brush -Thanks Butch Curry!) and a proper pentagram as befits the Crypt of a Witch King.
