Voted and, yes, the one vote for each category was super hard. I felt a bit traitorous towards the ones I didn't vote for, as there were about four or five in most of the categories that I could easily have chosen.
Congrats to everyone who was nominated. Even if you don't win, it's an achievement to be considered among the best of the Guild.

I know right? I felt downright guilty not voting for a map I had nominated.
My duty's done
That was hard, really hard.
Why are some artists nominated a few times in the same category (Yes, I know, just for discussion...)? One entry per artist per category would be adequate IMHO. Perhaps there should be a another category "Artist of the year"(Most nominations in all categories)?
For me in that nonexistant category it would be Francesca Baerald in 2016.
If two nominators wanted to nominate the same mapper to the same category but for two different maps, only one of those nominators would get to nominate the map of their choice for that category. So who would choose which of those two nominations to keep, and which to disqualify?

Nominations are for the map, rather than the artist, and some of the best artists here have produced multiple works that are worthy of nomination last year. Certainly some names are appearing again and again, but that's simply because people rate their work so highly. And really, that's what we want. The awards are about the best maps posted at the Guild, and I don't see a problem if one, two or many of those come from the same artist. We can't rule out someone because they made too many great maps!Originally Posted by Katto
Having said all that, I rather like the idea of a Best Artist. I suggest you hold that thought, and once we're done with the awards, we'll ask for opinions on what people thought and may tweak things for next year.
