I will start mountains over again with more precise shading. Today i worked on coastlines, rivers and lakes.
I added a little Scandinavia touch with the fjords on the north-west mountain side.

There is also a rough shade indicading mountains formation.

I hope this is final plan for the land and won't change it again

Indeed! I'm looking forward to this. Your last few maps were all truly outstanding and I already like how this is looking. Can't wait to see the how it turns out!

I agree - great things are about to happen on this continent

Why, thank you! But i must say that i am having trouble with this one. Spent many hours and could not figure out yet how to bite this kind of mountains. Honestly i thought it will be easier, but it is just the opposite.

The fact that i am trying multiply layers, not overlay... and i am working on very light texture makes it even harder.

This is just a small update with the ridges and first overall shade on the left side for mountains. Not much, but gives and idea of most land structure.

Oh MY! That is definitely one thousand times better than the first attempt. Its got that 'wrinkled land' look about it now

I disagree with you quite strongly - you've nailed the mountains

... but they are not even half done....

But if you keep going that way...

I really don't know how you do it, Voolf. Everything you draw turns out perfect in the end.

This is like 10th attempt of shading and frankly i dont like to so much.

I will work on it 2-3 more days but if this wont develop the way i want i will have to rethink this map and do it sometime later.

    Oh but it's beautiful, Voolf!

And the way you've done it blends so well with the shape of the coastline.

However, since they are evolving into semi-ISO mountains, I can see how equally gorgeous this would look done in your usual style
