A unicorn, eh? Hmmm. But if I add a unicorn there has to be a lion, and as it is there are only two states in this map.

Maybe if I get to like this style (in other words if I don't make a howling hash of it) I might make another map with a lot more states and shields on it

Very quick update!

Colour disaster, perspective confusion (I need to move the existing mountain where the red line shows), and general stress over whether I'm teetering on the brink of a total mapping catastrophe, since I'm going to have trouble learning how to draw all the mountains in gradually increasing ISO perspective from the bottom up.

(Why do I do these things to myself - LOL!!!)

Loving the colours by the way, though the shields are perhaps a little too sheeny for my taste.

Also, I accidentally misread the bottom part to say "Cartographer to the Dude of the Southern Isles" which I think has it's own ring to it. Though I think Duder, His Dudeness or El Duderino could work equally well.

It looks a whole lot better to me now you've said that

Unfortunately I had to merge down the shield graphics to make them easier to move with their shadows (In GIMP the drop shadows are separate and don't move with the object that cast them) and cut down on the amount of memory (the original is 7000 px tall, not 4500 px), so I'm just going to have to live with the shield mistake and hope it doesn't look too bad when its finished. I could redo the Murray shield quite easily, but of all the stupid things to do I've saved 14 versions of this file as I've been working and not one of them has the finished dragon head without the shield. If this wasn't a time limited piece I'd completely rework the head because I don't like the way I did the shadow, but its not, so it will have to stay 'as-is'.

I had to look that one up, Thomas, and I'm not really sure I understand correctly (since there are so many different styles of map that go with the Kull stories), but if you mean drawing a regional map in the style I've hinted at above, then yes I am

Nah... Its not going to be even half that beautiful
