Haven't posted in a while, as always. Hope everyone is having a good autumn!

Anyhow here are three black and white fantasy maps that I recently finished for a fantasy book series. They are quite simple in their design, but are still filled with exciting details from the story!

    Cheers,
    Karl

Simple and well though, i like those! Are the trees drawn individually?

Thank you Jack. Happy you like them.

On these maps everything is drawn individually by hand, each on their own A4. Only the labels, frame, circles and compass was added digitally

A lovely series. I dig the plateau and canyons. Very nice work.

I expect nothing more for a good novel map. nicely done.
One question tainotim, do you draw the trees separately o.O or use a preset brush? I almost never go for single trees style in map because drawing so much of them makes me pull mu hairs out of my head

Beautiful work... can I see the odd identical tree?

I may be imagining it, but if not its exactly the way I would have done it - a home made tree pipe brush

If it is, its a good one with about 30 variations in it

Big thanks everyone. Really happy people like it. They were really fun to make!

No preset brush or tree pipe brush used (But I do like the idea!). The trees are individually drawn by hand. However, when for example the client requested more trees in 'The Valley' map, I edited and reused some that I had already made so I wouldn't have to go back to the drawing table. But the large majority were done individually. I have made some digital brushes, however I find it so boring to paint that way so I try to avoid it unless I have to

Excellent set of maps, Tainotim! I particularly love the cities of the Valley.
