Don't know about dusty, but it's certainly dark!

What an awesome way to begin! Lovely, no that's not the right word... Devillishly dingy work, John!

Last night I went to bed and this Guildcave hadn't even started. Now I wake up and you've already finished your first!

    It looks great John!

Lovely ! or maybe, yikes no way.

All in one thread is no problem but would be for the scraper but not an issue for me linking up the zoomy map to them.

Out of curiosity, during the 15 minutes ( ) it took you to make this map, were you thinking at all about what sort of baddies or other things one might encounter here, or were you just focused on the terrain and such? Just curious about what goes through peoples' heads when they create...

The speed with which you completed this beautiful map is very intimidating ...

It's like "here's one I prepared earlier" in the cookery programmes

    It's dark. No question.
It was fun playing with light in a dark cave.

Well, i think I am just gonna do several in this thread.
Maybe this will be my cavern thread. Then I'll do another for structured dungeons.
Maybe a thrid one for domination dungeons... i mean... torture dungeons..

It depends. This one just sort of started as terrain.
But for my own stuff, I would think story first and then terrain.
Thus creature then location. But, if i want to do a type of terrain, then terrain first, then work out creatures that woudl fit.

    Todays map is like that.
I meant to make a sketch to show first, but got off track and then it was done.

Here's a not so dark and dire bit of cavern.
I am in the process of making some corridors for use with these.
I will do some rooms and halls and such.
wanted to do a bit of water here and also develop a style to use for more of thsee.
Something that could be rendered relatively quickly.
This one works well for that.

Edit - I might make a version of this with no water.

Haha, you are speedy. I like both of them. That certainly brightened up with the second one. I went in the opposite direction with mine... things are getting darker.
