Default Witcher 3: Northern Realms done in Tolkien style (Commissioned)

This is another project that was commissioned by our client that likes fan art and cartography from movies, novels, etc. Our inspiration for this piece was the master himself, Tolkien. We even added the red lettering like he quite often did.

As always, we had a lot of fun on this project. Tolkien is major influence and The Witcher is easily one of the greatest video game serires ever created. Was really interesting seeing those two worlds come together.

Hope you enjoy and as always, all comments are welcome.

Your linework is excellent! The shadows on your mountain are great as well. Some of the rivers have issues though. In some places they split apart as they make their way to the sea and do not rejoin. Unless this is meant to be marshland or a river delta or something (which it doesn't appear to be) then this not very realistic. Also there looks to be a steep cliff-line running east to west along the bottom portion of the map. It's not clear to me what's going on here though since it sort of appears out of nowhere. Is this meant to be a plateau or something? Those issues aside, nice work.

    Cheers,

    Default A little commentary.

It is a bit sad, that you made map using as basis one of the worst maps for Witcherverse ever.
Creators of game series did not even sometimes looked at covers of books that are core of this universum, anyway, could you make similar in style map if provided with sources of better worldmaps? And how detailed can it be then...
