actually what I did was take the dem data for the mid western portion of the north american coast, and flood it with another 900 feet of water.

Hey! Don't go flooding the Pacific coast, My son is in LA and my daughter is in Seattle right now. Well, she's working on a boat off of Seattle, so I guess she'll be OK.

Think I am settled on rivers, lakes and height field at this point. May tweak a few things if I have time later, but want to concentrate on getting this to a point of being done. If I still have a few days at that point I will start making little adjustments.

Thanks Mr. D and Ilanthar. This version has been much less stressful to work on and I am pretty happy with it so far. The grey scale test I ran last night didn't work quite as I had hoped, but it has given me some ideas for future work. Should be able to get back to work on this in the afternoon or early evening today, assuming things don't blow up at work before go home time.
