    Default [m]April: my map-a-day challenge

    Hi all,

As part of a personal challenge to increase the speed and quality of my map-making, I have embarked on the challenge of creating a map on every day of April. It's basically the same as Mapvember, but in April rather than November.

I might not finish this challenge, but I will at least get a rhythm going, and that's the main point.

I'd love to get some feedback from my fellow Guildies, so please feel free to comment, suggest and critique.
    ----------------
    The rules:
    • work on a new map for each day of April.
    • record how long each map takes.
    • alternate between digital and traditional drawings (i.e. day 1 is digital, day 2 will be traditional etc).
    • from day 1 to day 10 I'll set no time limit.
    • from day 11 to day 20 I'll limit myself to only 2 hours each day.
    • from day 21 to day 30 I'll limit myself to only 1 hour each day.
    • I'll be trying different styles and types of maps, as often as possible.
    • Each map will be posted to this thread

    ----------------
    Day 1:
    Medium: digital
    Type: town
    Time taken: 3:09

This was a town map inspired and referencing J.Edward's fantastic "Ward of Chiezbehrg" [here and here]. Obviously it isn't finished, but I think it has turned out alright, so far. I might try to finish it sometime, after this challenge is over.
