Here's the latest update, I've finished the mountains for the moment:




Many of the names (but some are generic ones) are reference to other things.

Now I'm trying to find a way to display the forest and the fields.



For the fields, it is supposed to be fireflies. What else could be used to show plains, fields or cultivated lands, in the darkness?
For the forests, I'm also looking into a bioluminescent solution but I don't know how to show it on a map properly. Is there one in the bunch that looks like something that could be a forest?

So glad you are going to continue with this. The mountains look good to me, and as for the forests, I think you are probably on the right track with the bioluminescence thing. If I had to choose from your samples so far, I would probably go with the top right version, maybe with a little darker green to "chop up" the blobs just a little bit and maybe a very faint ground texture underneath reflecting the glow. Whatever you decide to go with, I'm looking forward to seeing this develop. It was an eye-catcher for me during the Challenge.

Here is a long due update.



It's almost finished now.
I might add more fireflies and fairies flying around, I'm still unsure about the optimal density.
I might also add other things like crystals (already have one), bioluminescent flower/fungi...
I'm not sure about the border and legend, they remind me of Star Wars but it's a coincidence. I don't want something too complicated.
Anything else?
