First map attempt

[Acacia Rose]

This is my first attempt at a digitally created map. I decided to share it as I keep changing it, but I feel I would learn more making new maps. It is an encounter map of the faerywilds.

It was created in pixelmator with brushes I created. Suggestions for improvement welcomed and encouraged.

I like the coloration a lot. It looks like the map was colored by hand using water colors, giving it an 'authentic' look. As for the details, I would say there are a few you could improve, mainly with regards to the mountains. If you look closely, you can see them clipping into each other (if that's the right way to put it), instead of overlapping in a natural manner. For instance, the snow on top of a closer mountain is hidden by the base of the mountain behind it, which obviously makes no sense.
