Map Map Commission: The World of Grace and Fury

I was commissioned by author Tracy Banghart to create this full-color, 11 x 17 inch map to accompany her upcoming young adult fantasy novel Grace and Fury (releases in July). This map presented some fun new challenges, particularly with the volcanic caldera inset and the border composed of half-organic, half-metallic rose vines. The publisher, Little Brown, decided to include a grayscale version in the upcoming sequel, which was a huge honor! The art was mostly drawn in Procreate, with Photoshop there for text and clean-up.

Hehe, thus impressive, the frame is maybe not my favorite part of the map, except for the compass and daggers. However, I love the colors of your map, the towns and most of all the boat villages : you have there some creative details I never saw anywhere before !

Very nice, I wish more authors had their maps done up instead of the super simple vector line ones you see in most novels. My favourite part is Bellaqua.

Nice work. As everyone else has commented, the frame is indeed spectacular.
