Marburg - Easing Back Into Things
I thought I'd get back into map making after a bit of a hectic summer and start of the semester, so I thought I'd do a simple colour test / recreation to get back into practice. Here is Braun and Hogenberg's Marburg
which I used as a reference for mine:
The colours never come through how you want them when scanning, but I guess I'll have to live with that.
Hopefully I can get to some original stuff soon, but I am enjoying markers as opposed to digital colouring.

Ooh! I like how it's an obvious study, but you also made it your own by not straight-up copying the original.
Maybe I can help with that. Can you describe how you would want it to look? And which software you would use for colour correction?
That's a great take on the original. I like having maps of this style to show players to give them a feel for what their environment is.
Fantastic map! I have such a fondness for antique maps and this is a great homage to them.
