    Default September 2018 Entry: Camelot

It took me a while to figure out how I wanted to map Camelot, which turned out to be just as well because I had no time to map it. Apparently I kept working on it in the back of my mind, because last night I figured it out and today I had a day of football and mapping.

This is very attractive. I love the colour scheme you've used.

Thank you so much! I tried a version where Excalibur is sticking out of Britain, sword-in-stone style, but it looked more like Britain being stabbed, which took away from the pleasing color scheme.

Residents of the U.K. - Sorry in advance for errors in the political borders. I was going roughly for 9th century shires.

Camelot is an interesting choice for a map considering

Thank you! The buildings took up the largest chunk of time, but I've wanted to practice drawing them. I worked from photographs for these; I'm not yet to the point where I can draw them from memory or my imagination, but I feel like I'm getting closer.

Thanks, Ilanthar! I'm really happy with this entry. Still need to do some tweaks and finishes but the bulk of it is done.

And now I'm going to have "On second thoughts let's not go to Camelot. Tis a silly place." in my head along with the song. I'll probably be caught singing it in work sometime today

Great map though I'm not sure about the shires as the island was split into various Anglo-Saxon kingdoms with some Celtic ones remaining in Wales and Cornwall plus the Danes were beginning to settle too.
