GIMP 2.10.6 Bump Map Filter Help Needed [SOLVED]
Hi,
As the title says, I'm using GIMP 2.10.6 and I need help. Following a tutorial, I have a layer with a desaturated plasma cloud texture on it. Onto the next step, I've gone to Filters> Map> Bump Map... (it took me a while to find it because the tutorial was written a few years ago and GIMP has changed a bit since).
Preview is checked and, even if it wasn't, when I apply the bump map, nothing happens. It doesn't matter what settings I use, the texture doesn't change.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, please.

Hey.
In the bump map dialog box have you selected your background image for "Aux Input?" If that is selected you should be able to see the preview and apply the map.
If that doesn't work, what are the other settings in the dialog box set to?

The Bumpmap filter in gimp 2.10 works VERY!!! differently than in 2.6 or 2.8

Adenial: Thank you. That's exactly what had to be done. But, to activate the texture into the Aux Input, I had to double-click the required layer as single clicking didn't work.
johnvanvliet: You are off the hook but thank you lol. Yes, via the tutorials, I am seeing that 2.10 is behaving differently compared to the earlier versions. I'm totally new to GIMP so, while the tutorials are a help to some degree, I still need help when it comes to those differences.
