The trees are done by hand, but at this scale I can get away (or at least I think I can! ) with duplicating them quite a bit after I've drawn the first 200-300 or so. I do usually end up thickening the forests quite a bit once I've gotten them laid out, so yeah, each tree is definitely placed individually even if they aren't all drawn so. I'll just pick out a tree or two and start adding them to places that look too thin. It can get pretty tedious, but this is by far my favorite type of forest to make.
Yeah, that's cool! And you can definitely get away with duplicating them especially when they overlap a lot. It's such an awesome style and they have such a nice effect altogether! Definitely worth all of the effort!

Alright, I unfortunately wasn't able to get this done by New Year's like I'd hoped, but I'm _almost_ there, I swear. Getting there with the first half of the border.

It has been too long since I've been around the guild and this is the first thing I see! It looks wonderful Kell! I love the border design.

Thanks! And glad you found it interesting. I didn't really plan it that way, I just ran out of steam halfway throught, but now that you said it, I guess there is a pretty clear step-by-step visible in there

I tweaked the border some more, added a background around it, plus tried adding little gemstones to the right side as I think it looked a bit too barren compared to the left side. Some ocean labels now in place too.
I think I'm really almost done. I'll see about adding a legend box, and maybe refine the labeling a bit further, but those are really the only things I can think of that's left to do. Unless someone spots something that looks completely unacceptable!

Proud to have such a talented neighbor (in guildworld...)
The Gem were a really good idea ! The whole piece is splendid ! (and congrats for the sea labels... great idea !)
