ok... one more. Added some color to the desert areas. Felt to simplistic with just the aged paper for desert.

I went back to look at the first map and I have to disagree with everyone. The swept city labels looked way better.
Another change is the saturation values, which aren't bad in and of themselves, but they create a mismatch been the saturated colours and the unsaturated areas.

I made some more updates. Toned down the color some more. But, what I really wanted to do was to create a new border. I felt the the overlay on the water didn't look that great. I also might want to put a small world map in the top left. That way you can see where the subcontinent is located in relation to the planet.

I was still like the red for the frame. And I might bring back the swept city labels. I'm still considering the content at the bottom.

    Thanks.

Though, now I see it outside of Affinity Photo, maybe the red is too much.

Great map! I like that red color, but it is a bit to much for the map. Maybe lower the saturation a little.

If i can add one opinion here: I find it weird that the text is all in past tense. If this is part of the map and information on the map shown, I'd do present tense. So for example "Seven Cities IS a sub-continent north of .... " etc. .

That left aside, i like the overall feel of the map. And yes, I'm a huge fan of Erikson's work. One of the (if not THE) best fantasy series out there. The scope and depth of the world-building is spectacular and the complexity of the whole series is immense.

Here is an update. I added a globe in the top left corner for context. I'm wondering if I need to add some snowy areas in the top right.

I still want to update the content in the bottom.
