    Default Malazan Seven Cities Map

    Hi All,

I submitted what I thought was going to be a finished map late last month. I decided I want to work on it more. Will you give any feedback?

    Thanks so much!

I think it looks great. The colours of the sea are especially striking and effective.

I proof-read one of those books back in the day. Luckily it was one that roughly made sense as a standalone book as otherwise I'd have been completely lost!

I'm still not a fan of the tilted/slanted/curved labels for the seas. It's visually distracting. Other than that, that is one gorgeous map!

I think it looks great. If I remember correctly I always had trouble figuring out the book maps, this one is very clear.

I'm curious if the river where Mersin is actually goes from sea to sea in the book map.

Looking at the wiki, that does seem to be the case.

I too will re-state my earlier critique and say I still don't like the way the labels are curved. Unlike D, I think the ones on the ocean are fine (and I see you gave them a different style, good call!) but the ones on the cities and towns look really odd. There really is no reason for them to curve. Other than that, I'm still very fond of this style, and the colors used here look great.

Hehe you seem to be getting a bit of flak for the curved labels. I like them. They follow the flow of the topographic forms and I think add a nice element to the compositional effect. But then again I also put them in my maps and people don't like them there either, so maybe I'm just incapable of seeing the problem.

Yes, I looked back, and the rivers do go coast to coast. But, that isn't the way it would be so, I will fix that.
