    Default Fold background

    Hello,
    I search a tutorial (Photoshop in preference) to realize a fold (or unfold) apparence like on these beautiful map :

    I tried few things to obtain this result, but I never got the expected result.

    My experience with it :

    Find a bunch of folded paper scans.
    Convert them to black and white and play with the light and contrast to minimize the grey. You want the less grey possible because it'll darken your map.
    Once the map is done put the folded paper light adjusted texture on top and use the "hard light" "vivid light" or "linear light " (I prefer the last one) with opacity adjustment to get the feel you want.

    You can do the same with stained paper to add scratch marks.

    Yes of course
    I intend to post my city map soon, but only generals layouts, firstly.
    I don't know if I'll apply the fold effect on these map though (I think it's better with a world map ).
    For now, I try to layout buildings shapes, roads, walls, water and many others elements with simple flat colors, and I read carefully all topics for all techniques.
    Thanks to numberous tutorials and help found here and elsewhere.
