I first learned map and compass as a boy scout. In college I started caving and was trained to make maps laying in the mud, in the dark. I have pulled a tape, held a light, shot a compass or drawn sketch in a lot of wonderful places down inside the earth. I get to make maps and do geology for work. I started that when it was all hand drafted and now run a plethora of softwares and have gps units that do things we didnt even dream of back when. My focus is detailed, accurate maps of aspects of the natural world. Often things that are not easily seen, like caves
