Wanted to try making a lake map last main challenge after I found this style that could look awesome. This is just the test, going to hand draw the final.

This is actually quite cool, I didn't think about using the shape as a body of water. I'm using your idea as the inner shape for a dried up lake.

Excellent idea and the colour looks great!

Oh I really like this one. Can't put my finger on it, but maybe its my favourite colour, and the stepped levels makes it look like one of those models made out of layers of wood carved into a contour map.
