Great looking map. I really like the choice for filling the sea.

I am new to all this so any ideas or techniques for doing similar by hand?

This is digitally made, I use krita so here is how I made it: go Wrap Around mode, make a theme and then fill the area you want with pattern

The best bet for similar results by hand, in my opinion, would be a brown craft paper with blue watercolor for the ocean.

Great map! Only thing that bothers me is the pattern filling the sails of the ship.

Thanks, given how good so much of the digital work is on here I really think I need to start exploring it more. Thanks again for the info.

Thanks I will have to experimenting, hadn't even thought about something as straightforward as changing the paper! Congrats on the Sister challenge win as well, that was a close vote.

I really like the ocean as well, but I like the frame even better
