Wip August 2019 Challenge: Forest Village of Antlers

Six days. I can do this in 6 days, right? I fear the answer will depend upon work, but I'm going to try. My prompt was "Somewhere in the Sharbadush Highlands. The air is filled with the scent of wildflowers." I've decided to map a small village, deep in the wooded highlands. This will actually be great for my D&D campaign; eventually the PCs will have to go find an NPC named Jaen of Antlers, and he needs a place to live, so....

I got a bit more accomplished last night, after I did the pencil & paper sketch. I need to add farms, the lake, shift the map slightly to the left, draw the houses (what I have now are Photoshop brushes that I created to use as placeholders), and then spend waaaaaaay too much time working on trees. The circular thingy at the bottom represents standing stones. I've never drawn those from a top-down perspective so hopefully I'll have some time to play around with it.

    Welcome to the challenge!

Hehe, yeah, figuring out how something look from above is quite a tricky challenge. Good luck with the map.

I know, I don't know what the heck is wrong with me. I'm totally swamped at work, and here I've given myself....more work!

Update: More trees! A few draft farms! Lake color!

Added farms and more tree detail. Now playing around with some wildflowers, although I think the border is too big. I was going to add some trailing ivy to the border but I've got a lot of green going on so I'm not sure about that.

Must remember to get the buildings done!

I think I have to call this done. My prompt was "Somewhere in the Sharbadush highlands. The air is filled with the scent of wildflowers."
