Default Drawing forests bird-eye style on a small scale map

I've been having a bit of trouble trying to draw forests bird-eye style on small scale maps. Specifically, to also be able to differentiate between tree types - that is, Oak (Deciduous) and Pine (Evergreen).
    Here's my last attempt:

What do ya'll think? What could I do differently?
    Thank you.

I don't get a significant differentiation between tree types. I always make pine trees pointy and oak type trees fat and just focus on that differentiation in the clusters. It's a nice texture.

Use rounded forms for decidous trees, edgy ones for the coniferous types. While I like your pointy style from an artistic POV I doubt it's going to help much in the way of actually showing things clearly.
